About the Center for Developmental and Regenerative Biology

IUPUI Image

Initially known as the Center for Regenerative Medicine, the Center was established in 2001 at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The Center changed its name in 2014 to the Center for Developmental and Regenerative Biology in order to better reflect the nature of the center’s research and to affirm that many of the processes that are critical during the development of various organs are also critical to the regenerative process.

The center’s main goals are to
    1) Bring together individuals who are involved in developmental and/or regenerative biology to freely exchange ideas
    2) Foster multidisciplinary research focused on developmental and regenerative biology
    3) Support translation of the basic research performed in the center into therapeutic approaches for human use
    4) Educate graduate and undergraduate students interested in various aspects of developmental and regenerative biology
    5) Communicate groundbreaking research by Center members to the public
